Licorice Chai

Licorice is often used in many herbal remedies around the world, particularly in Asia. In traditional Chinese medicine, liquorice (??) is commonly used in herbal formulae to “harmonize” the other ingredients in the formula and to carry the formula to the twelve “regular meridians”and to relieve a spasmodic cough.

Liquorice / licorice is used in many home remedies for battling wintery ills. Some love the sweet after taste Licorice leaves in their mouth. Licorice is about 50 times sweeter than normal sugar.

Though Licorice has long been a “tried and tested” herb, people with high blood pressure obesity diabetes or kidney, heart or liver conditions should avoid licorice. Over dosage on licorice can cause headaches.

We have a range of licorice tea –
Licorice (slices) – single herb
Licorice Chai – strong black tea with licorice pieces
Serenity (Ayurveda Herbal Mix) – florally sweet and minty
